3 DELSU Ex-Students Nabbed For Beating, Robbing Lecturer

Some former students of DELSU are standing trial for beating and robbing a lecturer

Three former students of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka have been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Abraka on a three count charge of felony, stealing and assault on one  Mr. Ifeanyi Ogu-Raphael.

The accused, Oghenetega Odiete, Aforke Avwerosuo, Oghenede Ufuoma and others at large attacked Ogu-Raphael, a lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the university, on June 3, 2013.

According to a Vanguard report, the ex-students "committed felony to wit: assault occasioning harm, unlawfully beat up and stole N69, 000, four mobile handsets and an ATM card all belonging to Mr. Ogu-Raphael."

The offences are punishable under Sections 516, 355 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol.1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. M. Omonemu, adjourned the case to September 17, 2014.
