Although, the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has promised to release WASSCE results within 45 days, the release of the result might take a little longer than that.

However, instead of staying idle waiting for your WAEC result, it is important you take some useful steps.

Here are three important things you should do while waiting for the result.

1. Attend coaching classes

It is very easy for secondary school leavers to slip after writing their final papers. You might want to rest after writing your SSCE for a whole month. Yes, it necessary you take a little break but don't divorce your books.

After resting for a few days, look for a good tutorial or coaching centre around you and start preparing for the next exam.

2. Prepare for UTME

You know what your next exam is, right? Once you pass your WASSCE and have the required credits for the course you want to study, the next step to take is to register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Like your SSCE, you really need to study well for this exam. Apart from attending tutorials, treat past questions, form a study group and seek counselling on the course you want to study at the University or Polytechnic.

3. Learn a skill

While you are preparing for the UTME, you can also learn a skill that is related to your prospective course of study. For instance, if you wish to study Mass Communication, you can improve your skills in writing, keep up your reading habit and also learn how to write scripts.

And if you're a science student and wants to study Computer Science, for instance, you'll need to have a better understanding of the various components of the computer system. Learn about the branches of computer science such as Artificial intelligence, Communication and security, Computer architecture and Computer graphics. Learning any of this will help you understand the course better at the university.
