Politicians have been warned not to use students for electoral violence as the 2015 general elections draw near.
Don't use students for election violence, Prof warns
A don, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, has appealed to politicians not to use students as political thugs in the coming general election.
The Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, gave the warning during the College's matriculation ceremony as it inducted 7,385 new students.
Ogen said that the college had structured its calendar to accommodate the elections and ensure that the students are at home at the time
“Fortunately for us, the exams would be over and the students would not be on campus during the elections. They would be at home," he said.
He however said politicians should not use the students as thugs during the polls.
The Professor however said he is confident that "no student of Adeyemi College of Education will, be used to foment trouble during the elections."
Political thuggery have often marred past elections in Nigeria.
