He made the sun stand still, dare to believe the impossible!
No, I am not a pastor or minister or anything like that. What I am is a growing believer moved to share my discoveries about God, and this thing called life with you.
The first day's reading titled: "The Prayer That Stopped the Sun" was all about when Joshua had the audacity to ask God to make the sun stand still in order to win the battle with the Amorites.
Joshua 10:12-14 says, "On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!
Reading this, I was reminded of the kind of Father that we serve.
Let's take a moment to imagine the kind of audacious faith that Joshua had in order to make this 'impossible' request.

Audacity is defined as 'a willingness to take bold risks.' Joshua was very bold to make this request but more importantly, his faith in the kind of God that he has made him willing to even ask.
We have to get to the point where we know the kind of God that we have in our corner before we can open our mouths to make certain requests.
The only way we can know Him is to make time to read His Word, to spend time studying it with the help of the Holy Spirit.
When we do the work needed to know Him, there is no way we can forget what He can do.
I know it can be easy to give into doubts and fears when faced with life's challenges, thus forgetting the God that we have, but it is important that we never let this happen.
We have to hold on to faith, audacious faith, that lets you say prayers that make the unbeliever wonder if you are crazy.
In the devotional, Furtick goes on to say, And further still, if the size of your vision for your life isn't intimidating to you, there's a good chance it's insulting to God. You should be living by audacious faith every day. Audacity is not just for elite Christians. It's intended for every believer. With everything in me, I believe God still desires to make the sun stand still over the life of every believer. Obviously, not in the unique way He did for Joshua, but in ways that are equally spectacular (although not always quite as dramatic), God is perfectly willing to perform the impossible in our everyday lives. If we have the audacity to ask."
God is the same yesterday, today and forever. All we have to do is ask, and He can do great things for us, just as He did for Joshua.
