How Catholic leader helped Hillary Clinton after U.S election

But what you may not know is that he is more. Apparently, he is also an influencer and holds some significance for Hillary Clinton.
According to the former Presidential candidate, the Pontiff helped a lot during a really tough time, when Donald Trump beat her to become the President of United States.

Christian Today reports that a TED talk by Pope Francis was Clinton's inspiration on how to cope with this loss.
She shared this in her new book, 'What Happened.' She also revealed her interpretation of the Pope’s “amazing” talk.
In her words, “He called for a “revolution of tenderness.” What a phrase! He said, “We all need each other, none of us is an island, an autonomous and independent ‘I,’ separated from the other, and we can only build the future by standing together, including everyone.”
“He said that tenderness “means to use our eyes to see the other, our ears to hear the other, to listen to the children, the poor, those who are afraid of the future.”’
“I’m coming around to the idea that what we need more than anything at this moment in America is what you might call “radical empathy.”

It makes sense that she would feel this way since Pope Francis’s message was actually very powerful and inspiring.
For his talk, the Pontiff focused on the importance of interactions and shed light on how human beings are all connected.
He said, “Let us help each other, all together, to remember that the “other” is not a statistic or a number. We all need each other."
“None of us is an autonomous and independent “I”…We can only build the future by standing together, including everyone."
His speech was basically a reminder that no man is an island and we can not afford to be separated. No wonder it had such an impact on Clinton.
