Reports have it that terrorist group, Boko Haram have begun taking over churches in the northern parts of Nigeria where it has gained control, beheading men and forcing women to convert to Islam.

According to local Christians, the Islamic militants are turning churches into strategic places, imposing strict sharia laws and taking over the homes of people who have fled for their lives.

Secretary of the Maiduguri Roman Catholic diocese, told the Religion News Service, “Things are getting pretty bad, a good number of our parishes in Pulka and Madagali areas have been overrun in the last few days.”

“Many civilians are now on the run,” he added. “Many others are being trapped and killed. Life means nothing here. It’s so cheap and valueless.”

Reports by local newspapers say “every Christian man available in the areas” has been beheaded.

Boko Haram seized Bama town, in Borno state after they advanced in the region and declared an Islamic Caliphate.
