The founder and spiritual leader of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations, T. B. Joshua has laid the blame for the collapse of a 5-storey building in the church premises on Boko Haram.

According to reports, prophet Joshua blamed the tragic incident on terrorist sect, Boko Haram, adding that the attack was targeted at him not at the church members.

A building belonging to the church which was under construction suddenly fell on Friday, September 12, killing scores and leaving many others injured from the incident.

Just as he promised reporters, Prophet Joshua played the footage to church members and those watching online, showing them the horrific moment the building which was a guest house under construction collapsed.

The televangelist reportedly began by thanking officials involved in the extensive rescue operation, as well as supporters worldwide for their prayers.

Recounting the incident which occurred he said, “I know this is not the right time to talk,” the cleric started. “I will just say a little because I don’t want to interfere with the job of security personnel.”

The prophet narrated how he left his prayer room for the church, only to be alerted of the strange aircraft on phone.

Joshua went on to state that after thirty years residing in Ikotun, Lagos, he had never witnessed an incident of this nature.

Reports by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) say the number of those feared dead from the Church Guest House building collapse has risen to 17 and the number of persons rescued had increased to 111.

The South-West Public Relations Officer of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, had told newsmen that a child whose age was between 10-12 years had also been rescued and rushed to one of the state government hospitals.
