Religious leader says Nigeria's economic recession was planned by God
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, believes the economic recession part of God's plan for Nigeria.
According to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, all of these was ordained by the Heavenly Father, The Nation reports.
Speaking at his 10th coronation anniversary celebrations, which commerced on November 2, 2016, he said, "it is ordained by God."
Moving on, he called on both Muslims and Christians to change their ways and return to God, as this would solve the problem.
“The only solution to this is for us to show piety and repent," he said.
The religious leader also urged the government to find ways to tackle the suffering of Nigerians.
Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, who is also the president general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), is currently marking his 10th year on the throne.
