Chief Imam Of Osogbo Is Dead

Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, described the cleric’s death as a big loss to the Muslim community in Osun and Nigeria

The Chief Imam of Osogbo Osun State, Shaykh Mustapha Olayiwola Ajisafe, has passed away.

According to reports, Imam Ajisafe who was also the President General, League of Imams and Alfas, South-west, Edo and Delta states, died on Monday evening, September 8.

The Islamic cleric is expected to be buried on today September 9, in Osogbo in accordance with Islamic rites.

Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, described the cleric’s death as a big loss to the Muslim community in Osun and Nigeria.

In a condolence message read by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy in the Governor’s Office, Semiu Okanlawon, the governor described the late Ajisafe as a cleric of repute, saying that his contributions to the search for peace in the state and the country was outstanding.

Mr. Aregbesola said.

While praying for the repose of the soul of the late cleric, the governor urged members of various Muslim societies to continue the good works Sheik Ajisafe started, adding

he added.
