The man, who according to his Twitter account (@jtimdal)called Tim, took to the social media platform to narrate his ordeal in the hands of security operatives in Abuja.

With a series of Tweets, Tim reveals that he was picked up at Holy Trinity Church in the Maitama suburb of Abuja at about 10.am on Sunday. He reveals that he was interrogated by the security officials who said he looked like a terrorist.

“This happened at Holy Trinity Church, Maitama, Abuja about an hour ago, I was forced to say a catholic prayer which I recited perfectly,” Tim starts off his story.

“Not convinced enough my phone was taken from me and checked, two pictures on my phone they saw and another round of questioning ensued. One picturewas a friend of mine from uni dressed in a costume as part of final year week activities, the 2nd was a pic I took while I was doing my youth service back in Bauchi in 2011. I schooled in Uniben and got posted to Bauchi for NYSC, according to the security operatives, that was suspicious,” Tim reveals on Twitter.

“They said I most likely got indoctrinated while in Bauchi and will most likely be a security risk. At this point I almost got whisked away to wherever they had the intention of taking to, luckily for me a family friend came out of church. And identified me and verified all I had said to them, so they allowed me go but took my details and his and said they would get back to us,” Tim reveals.

After his story, it was insinuated by other Twitter users that Tim might have been arrested because of his beards, but the photographer refuted the insinuation, revealing that a black mark on his forehead was what the security operatives said gave them the impression that he was a Muslim.

“I sustained an injury sometime last month on my forehead which has left a black mark on it. That's what they (security operatives) said gave them the impression that I'm a Muslim,” Tim reveals.

The complainer also recalled how he lost a friend to insurgency while he was serving in Bauchi four years ago, revealing that his friend wasn’t killed because he was a Christian, but because he was serving the country.

“I was in Bauchi 4 years ago and in the middle of the Election Violence. A friend of mine ( a corper then) was killed in cold blood not because he was a christian but because he was serving his country. A country that couldn't guaranty the safety of his life, God help us in this Country,” he laments.
