RCCG members bow to G.O’s chair, is this idolatry? [VIDEO]

A new video of members of Pastor Adeboye’s church kneeling and bowing before his chair is causing major drama online.

The video shows people bowing, kneeling and touching a chair that allegedly belongs to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG.)

According to the Facebook user that shared the video, Uchechi Nwigwe, this is idolatry.

In his words, “I do not subscribe to any form of human worship, whether of Saints or Living humans, but watch a Video of some Redeemed members worshipping the Chair of their GO.”

As usual, this has attracted mixed reactions. Like Nwigwe, some believe that this is clearly a form of idolatry while others argue that this is simply a way to tap into their pastor’s anointing.

Those against this ‘idolatry’ are led by OAP and increasingly popular religious critic, Daddy Freeze.

Daily Post reports that he says, “This is not faith or worship, this is fuckery.”

@Dammy_yusuph - "this is idolatry no other way to call it this is not even Christianity”

@onyisue — “just imagine this sort of foolishness and stupidity someone will tell me he /she doesn't like Catholic because we worship mary which is not true but they are worshipping a mere chair.”

@Facebook user — “The most stupid thing to do that I have ever seen all my life. That is the reason why u see people wear their photo around the neck and as a wrist band. God certainly hates this idolatry. Jesus calls them workers of iniquity Adeboye inclusive.”

@Facebook user — “The hypocrisy of these end time Pentecostal Churches Pastors are now being exposed. When they came, they say all manners of things against the Orthodox Churches with varying condemnations of their doctrines. They did these to get members of these Orthodox Church. When they now felt comfortable enough with the numbers of converts to their Churches from these Orthodox Churches, they can now come out with their hidden demonic agendas. That’s why we witness all manners of activities in these Churches”

@Facebook user — “The pastor is testing the little new charm he collected from his native doctor and is working…… My people die because they lack knowledge.”

@Facebook user — “You are a fool for doing that. Go and tap anointing from the bible. Not from all these Illuminati pastors.”

@Facebook user — “Christians, were are we heading to?”

Those in support say:

@agathaGrace — “nobody instructed them to do this, plus if this is how they worship people then you need your eyes cleaned.”

@dearmammaa — “They are not worshipping the chair if u have faith like the woman who touched the hem of Jesus garment and was healed you are free to touch the G.O’s chair and receive your miracle by faith.”

@stamina kwaleboi — “This is not out of place someone touched Jesus garment and got healed”

@queenfortune — “Daddy G.O will never ask them to touch it and again I believe its ur faith that does the miracle for you.”

@Uche_emmkie — “The woman with the issue of blood got healed by touching the garment of Jesus all they are doing is tapping into the anointing just like she did and I believe it works for them that believe.”

@Facebook User — “Judge not leave it for God to do the judging run your own race because you that is busy blaming others you are not saved”

@Facebook User — “That’s their belief.  Provided they get what they ask God for by worshipping his chair by sheer faith.”

@Facebook User — “We don't worship his chair we only tap anointing from it. We don’t care what people are saying”
