Oyo Governor's wife distributes food stuff to women
Ajimobi said on the occasion that the gesture was in fulfilment of her promise during the governor's electioneering in 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items distributed to the women include beverages, rice, garri and spagettti .
"The gesture is to meet the needs of Muslim faithful particularly women during the Ramadan.''
She said in spite of the lean resources of the state the governor had considered gave women's welfare priority attention especially during the ongoing 30-day fast.
She urged the representatives of the women from the wards and local government areas to ensure that the iteams were distributed equitably for the benefit of all.
"On behalf of the state governor, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, I want to felicitate with you to please accept these items and use them in the spirit of Ramadan."
The governor's wife urged the people to continue to support the Ajimobi administration and for the peace and prosperity of the state.
"I urged you all to use the Ramadan season which is meant for fasting and prayers to pray for peaceful co-existence in Oyo State," she said.
Mrs Nike Atanda, the wife of the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Ibarapa East Local Government, thanked Mrs Ajimobi for the gifts.
