Deputy Speaker, House of Reps urges Muslims to pray for peace, unity
The deputy speaker urged Nigerians to eschew violence and stressed the need for peace in order to achieve meaningful development.
The call is contained in Lasun's Ramadan message issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Wole Oladimeji.
Oladimeji said Lasun made the call at a prayer session organised for him by Osun State Muslim Community in Osogbo,Osun.
The chief press secretary quoted him as saying "with fervent prayer to God, all things are possible.''
He, therefore, urged Muslims to use the Ramadan period to reflect and ponder on how to rebuild the nation and do away with corruption and other vices that Almighty Allah frowns at.
He appealed to Nigerians to believe in politicians, requesting that they be given more opportunities rather than the doubt and suspicion existing between voters and politicians.
This, he said, was already creating a gap between the two.
"It is God that puts people into positions and not the function of any human being and President Muhammadu Buhari's quality is what Nigerians need now," he added.
