Pope Francis on Monday, November 2, 2015 sent a telegram conveying his condolences to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin and for those who died in the crash in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

The Metrojet charter flight crashed on Saturday October 31, 2015 killing all 224 people on board just about 23 minutes after it took off from Egypt’s Red Sea resort.
