Founder and general superintendent of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry, William Kumuyi at a press conference urged churches and Christian leaders in the country to always get involved in social welfare by empowering the poor in the society.

Pastor Kumuyi also advised the electorate to "de-emphasise ethnicity and religion while casting their votes during the 2015 general elections."

The cleric made the statement on Wednesday, December 24 in Ado Ekiti at a press conference to declare open a 3-day revival tagged ‘Extraordinary Encounter With the God of Miracles’, in Ekiti State.

Pastor Kumuyi said that empowering the poor would help in teaching the citizens how to be their brothers’ keepers in a developing nation like Nigeria, where poverty is high and deeply entrenched.
