"All Christians should date"

The award-winning singer who just released her sophomore album, ‘123 Project’, is of the belief that dating is essential for Christians who want to get married, stating that it is essential for a good marriage partner selection.

Nigerian singer, Nikki Laoye hs revealed that it is acceptable for Christians to date.

“What is dating actually?” She told Pulse. “We are not talking about sleeping around and all those other stuff that happens.

“What I’m talking about is getting to know one another. If you don’t date, if you don’t hang around, spend time together, how would you at the end of the day know the kind of person you want to spend the rest of your life with.”

Nikki Laoye also revealed that a lack of courtship and discovery of one’s partner is one of the chief reasons hwy many marriages hit difficulties. Further buttressing her point about the importance of the process.

“And check it out, it’s just that a lot of people are quiet about these things, but a lot of Christian marriages are going through hell. Because most of them never got to date, and maybe they met in church, they did the typical church thing, they never knew what each other liked, they never knew about the other person’s character, everybody is forming holy and godly in church, and then when you finally got married, you got home and saw a whole different person.

Even though people need to date, Nikki believes that physicality and premarital sex should be held off. This enables a clarity of mind, and gives objectivity during the courtship period.

“That’s why it’s actually important to date and see who you want to spend the rest of your life with. Because you know what can happen when the physical side of dating comes into it, and then everyone just loses their minds.

“I don’t even advice that because at that point, when you start getting physical, you don’t see properly anymore. (laughs)

“A lot of emotions start rolling, start running. It’s very important that let me see you for who you are, your values, your interest, your goals, do we share the same? What are we working towards, What is this all about?

That’s actually what dating is all about. And it is actually very important.”
