This is the most popular Bible verse of 2017

It was the most shared, bookmarked and highlighted in a well used Bible app.

According to the popular app, this Bible verse is Joshua 1:9, which reads, “This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.”

End of Year Report

The app says this verse was shared, bookmarked and highlighted the most this year.

This applies to everywhere in the world except the United States of America, where Romans 8:28 was the most popular. It reads: “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

The App’s end of year report also notes that there was an increase in the number of people that read, listened, reflected and shared the Word of God throughout 2017.

In general, 297, 811, 840 and counting people installed the app and 16.7 billion chapters were read all in one year.

Feedback Concerning the App

According to Christian Post, one user known as identified as Vinod P. from Bihar in India, says the  bible really helps him.

In his words, “The availability of different versions made my Bible study deeper, and I have now read the entire Bible many times. I consider reading the whole Bible one of the most significant achievements of my life. The Bible App made it possible.”

To this, YouVersion founder and Life Church Pastor Bobby Gruenewald says, “We believe the Bible is a source of courage and strength. We are encouraged to see from this year’s data that people all over the world are finding hope in God’s Word.

“In recent years, technology has made it possible to accelerate Bible translation like never before. There’s incredible momentum around this effort that we know won’t stop until every person has Scripture available in their heart language.”

YouVersion was created in 2008. Since then, it has become one of the most beloved Bible apps ever.
