Is it possible to be a Christian and witch at the same time?

Is it possible to be a Christian and witch at the same time? While a lot of believers might say this is absolutely impossible, based on the Bible, one woman says otherwise.

For KAISI aka Rev. Valerie Love, there is nothing wrong with being a believer and practicing witchcraft at the same time. She shared her opinion in a recent rant on Facebook.

In the words of this self-proclaimed 'Christian Witch', "Stop thinking you can tell people how to worship. Stop thinking you can tell people how to connect with the divine. I could tell you how many people have told me, 'You can't be a Christian witch' but here I am. See, you can't tell me how to worship. You cannot tell me how to connect with the divine. That's between me and God. You cannot tell me how to pray."

According to Love, who describes herself as a Divine Midwife of Soul Destiny, and an ordained Minister of Spiritual Consciousness, people really need to let go of religious bondage and be themselves.

She says, "Where do we get off believing that we can actually dictate to other people how they worship. … It's not our lane. I was born a witch and I love it. I'm so thankful. People are afraid of the word [witch] because of fear and ignorance and I am here as a minister of the living God to dispel fear and ignorance."

Love goes on to add, "My job as a minister of the living God, as an ordained minister of spiritual consciousness is freedom, to set us free. … People are in religious bondage because religion told you what to think, what to do. I'm not here to tell you what to think. I'm here to support you in how to think."

What does the Bible say about witchcraft?

Even though this Rev believes that it is okay for Christians to be witches, the scripture lists witchcraft as one of the works of the flesh (see Galatians 5:19–20). Exodus 22:18 explicitly says, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."

Other Bible verses concerning witchcraft include the following;

Leviticus 19:26 warns,

"...Do not practice fortune-telling or witchcraft."

Revelation 21:8 says,

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Galatians 5:19–21 says,

"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

1 Samuel 15:23 states,

"Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king."

Micah 3:7 says,

"Seers will be put to shame. Those who practice witchcraft will be disgraced. All of them will cover their faces because God won't answer them."

"I will tear down your walls and demolish your defenses. I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers," Micah 5:11–12 adds.
