Catholic bishop openly praises gay couples.

As a follow up to Ireland’s on going referendum on the approval of gay marriages in the country, a clergy man in an interview praised the commitment that exists in same sex relationships.

The Bishop of Derry, Rev. Donal McKeown said "I would hate for people to vote no for bad reasons, for sort of bigoted reasons, for nasty reasons, for bullying reasons."

Adding that 'People have to make up their own mind, and I'm quite happy that they can do that in front of God, be it yes or be it no.'

When asked if he was going to vote in support of gay marriages, he said the referendum was a dangerous experiment, and that it will alter every known definition of marriage.

In a similar development, The Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin said: "I have no wish to stuff my religious views down other people’s throats," Martin wrote, "but I also have a right to express my views in the reasoned language of social ethics."
