Man steals N5,000 from church's offering

According to reports, one Kingsley has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from Saint Peter’s Catholic Church’s offering box in Ejigbo.

Kingsley was said to have stayed behind after the daily morning service on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 pretending to wait behind for extra prayers, he headed to the room where offerings was usually kept.

It was said that he dipped a glue coated stick into the offering box and pulled out money which was later totaled at N5,000 naira.

On his way out the church, he was caught by the church’s private guards. The guards reportedly took Kingsley to the priest but was set free out of compassion after he told the priest that he did it to take care of his pregnant wife.

On getting home it was said that his pregnant wife confronted him about the theft but he ended up beating her. His wife then reported to the police.

He is currently undergoing preliminary investigations.
