Governor Shettima begins rebuilding churches destroyed by Boko Haram
The restoration of churches and other structures destroyed by the Boko Haram insurgents in Lassa, Borno state has begun.
Visiting areas affected in these attacks, he pledged to restore these buildings before the end of this year.
“I want to assure that the churches will be rebuilt before December, so that the people can celebrate the Christmas in a more conducive atmosphere."
"We will also make sure that all private houses destroyed are rebuild without delay.
We are not doing this for political reasons because we are not facing any election now. Our actions are based on the desire to serve people and to ensure equity among them", he added.
Now, multiple sources have reported that the governor has kept his word, as work has begun on in these areas.
Pictures taken on November 29, 2016, prove that a church in Askira Uba is being reconstructed.
Kudos to Shettima and the state government for fulfilling their promise.
