A 3-year-old Assyrian girl, Christina Khader Ebada, was reportedly abducted by ISIS from her family in northern Iraq as they fled Qaraqosh, the largest Christian town in northern Iraq.
ISIS Kidnaps 3-Year-Old Girl From Christian Family
The girl’s mother last saw her being carried away by an ISIS fighter
According to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), Islamic State militants popularly known as ISIS, attempted to occupy the city but were chased off by the Kurdish fighters, while elders, women, and children fled to neighbouring towns.
ISIS cut off the Qaraqosh’s water supply and placed an embargo on the town, so that nearby Muslim villages stopped trading with them. Those who remained were left fighting for survival.
When the Kurdish fighters withdrew from the city on August 6, many Christians were forced to flee without their possessions.
Reports say ISIS escorted little Christina’s family as well as other residents to a convenient checkpoint and told them to leave and never return.
The girl’s mother last saw her being carried away by a heavily bearded ISIS fighter while Christina was crying and screaming.
