Who is in charge of your life?
Matthew 16: 24 - "Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am."
Have you given God the wheels of your life or are you the backseat driver, constantly trying to tell Him what to do and what path to follow?
Today, God is telling us to stop being the second kind of believers and let Him take full control.
In Matthew 16:24-26, Jesus reminds us of a fundamental part of Christianity.
"Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?"
He goes on to say in verses 27-28, "Don’t be in such a hurry to go into business for yourself. Before you know it the Son of Man will arrive with all the splendor of his Father, accompanied by an army of angels. You’ll get everything you have coming to you, a personal gift. This isn’t pie in the sky by and by. Some of you standing here are going to see it take place, see the Son of Man in kingdom glory.”
God wants to helps us, He wants to give us better lives, but He can not do that, until we surrender to Him.
Revelations 3:20 says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me."
You don't have to fight the storms of life, all by yourself.
All you have to do is hand over the wheels to the person, who created you, and everything will be alright!
