The cleric said the reason why great things no longer happen in the church is because some men of God have turned the church into a chamber of commerce with their activities
Prof. Uka says he wonders why anyone will think of church paying taxes after citizens of the country pay income tax as individuals.
He made the statement after the the 10th anniversary/dedication of Eibe Edibe Parish building, Calabar.
The cleric also called on the Federal Government to agree to the demands of the Boko Haram Islamic sect by swapping the 200 Chibok schoolgirls for their detained members.
“America, Israel, Afghanistan have swapped prisoners. There is no crime in swapping the girls and there is no price too expensive for Nigeria to pay to ensure their release,” he stated.
Prof. Uka in his sermon, said the reason why great things no longer happen in the church is because some men of God have turned the church into a chamber of commerce with their activities
“They should be careful how they manipulate events in God’s sanctuary because anyone using the church for something contrary has a question to answer from God as no sinner will go unpunished,” he added.
He called on Christians to be more fervent in their service and commitment to God despite current happenings in the country.
