The President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Ayo Oritsejafor, has been accused by leadership of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) of smearing the image of the body, saying it was wrong for his private plane to be associated with the controversial arms deal in South Africa.

In an interview with the BBC Hausa service, Ignatius Kaigama, Archbishop of Jos and President of CBCN, said they had been watching with “sadness how Oristejafor had been hobnobbing with the Presidency for long,” and accused the CAN chief of dragging Christianity into the mud.
He faulted the way and manner Oritsejafor has been running CAN and urged the relevant authorities to investigate the matter dispassionately and ensure that those found guilty were punished.
