Ecumenical body to fight cultism in UNIBEN

Suspected Cultists

According to Pmnewsnigeria, the goal of this collaboration would be to eliminate cultism and other social vices.

In a statement from the university, President of CAN in the state, Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen, said: “UNIBEN is a factory where lives are being modelled and it has produced great men and women”.

He also acknowledged the efforts made to fight these vices, adding that the collaboration had become essential due to the alarming rate of cultism.

The CAN president was supported by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, who called the partnership, a welcome idea.

He also spoke on cultism, which he said had reduced with help from the “University of Benin Cult Renunciation, Reconciliation, Reformation and Rehabilitation Committee”.

The professor noted that the collaboration with CAN would aid and lead to a high success rate.
