Sultan declares Ramadan is over

The Sultan of Sokoto has declared the fasting of Ramadan over.

The Sultan of Sokoto- Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III. 

The President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, has declared the fasting of Ramadan over following the sighting of the moon in Kano, Borno, and Sokoto.

This means that the Muslim Eid prayers will be performed tomorrow across the country.

The Federal Government earlier declared public holidays for Friday 17th and and Monday 20th of July to celebrate the Eid festival.
