To make better the difficult situation of people in the north-east of Nigeria, affected by acts of terror meted out by Islamic militants, Boko Haram, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has declared a day to raise money for victims of insurgency.

Speaking on behalf of the association, Oritsejafor said all churches across Nigeria are to collect a special offering on Sunday, 7 December, to use in procuring aid and offering assistance to the displaced men, women and children in the terror ravaged states, especially Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
Addressing 943 delegates from 29 states of the country and Cameroon, the founder of the church and President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, disclosed that Boko Haram insurgents have shut down several churches in the region.
Oritsejafor revealed to the delegates that CAN had sent letters to all the churches in the country, asking them to collect a special offering to ease the hardship of Christians in the north.
