Angela Okorie calls on Christians to support Man of God
Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has joined the growing list of people that support Apostle Johnson Suleman.
The Nollywood actress has shown her support by encouraging Christians to follow the pastor to the DSS office.
Using her Instagram account, she wrote, "The DSS has invited Apostle Johnson Suleiman to appear b/4 the Abuja office for interrogation by 10 am on Monday 30/1/17. Let every Christian come out in a procession to accompany Apostle Suleiman to the DSS office. He spoke for us all. We stand against the shameful silence of Nigerian government over killing of Christians in Nigeria; intimidation/ harassment of the church with state security agencies and the Islamic Agenda of this regime. United we stand & Together we will win this battle. Christians awake!!!!!"
He was invited to the DSS office after calling for the killing of Fulani herdsmen.
Speaking during a church service, the Man of God said, "I have told them in the church here that any Fulani herdsman that just enters by mistake and want to pretend, kill him. Kill him. Cut his head. If they are busy killing Christians and nothing is happening, we will kill them and nothing will happen."
However, the Apostle has said that his words were taken out of context, adding that he was only expressing his thoughts on fulani herdsmen.
In a statement issued by the Communications Adviser of Suleman, Phrank Shaibu, the cleric said, “The Fulani militia, masquerading as herdsmen have stated that they are going to kill me. Everyone knows that they are armed with AK47 and have already killed over 7000 persons in Nigeria. Women have been raped and houses destroyed. Yet, not one of them has been caught or is being prosecuted by the DSS or Federal Government.
Are we saying that I should fold my arms and allow the same Fulani militia to kill me? Am I wrong to give my security aides orders that they should kill any of the so-called herdsmen found near me or my church? Is there nothing like self-defence in our law?”
This is not the first time the Apostle has been the cause of a controversy.
In 2016, he caused a stir when he prophesied the death of the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, for attempting to restrict public preaching.
Apostle Suleman is expected to appear in Abuja today, January 30, 2016.
