3 important spiritual things for Muslims to do every Friday
We take a look at certain rituals set aside for Friday which is favored above all other days.
Special bath
There is a special bath called ghusl that Muslims are expected to take every Friday. It is a ritual bath done to purify the body.
The Prophet said, " O gathering of Muslims, Allah has made this day an eid for you, so make ghusl and use the miswak." Miswak means chewing stick.
Attend Friday prayers
After performing the ghusl, Muslims set out for Friday prayers at the Mosque. It is important to arrive early with neatly cut nails, wearing your best outfit and perfume in order to reap the full rewards.
Salman al-Farsi reports that the Prophet (SAW) said: "A man who performs ghusl on Friday, purifies[himself] and uses dye [for his hair] or perfumes himself in his house, goes to the mosque, and does not cause separation between two people [who are already seated], prays what Allah has prescribed for him, and then listens quietly while the imam speaks, all his sins between that Friday and the next Friday will be forgiven."
Recite a chapter of the Quran
Its called 'Surat Kahf.' It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed al-Khduri that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light between the two Fridays."
