The stinging pain of hot water dabbing his wounds woke him up. The darkness of the room didnt allow him see who nursed him, and the weight of her warm but firm hands against his back pressed him to the bed helpless.

"Shetia?". His voice was still sore from his roars of agony. Shetia was his twin sister. The only one who would disobey the master's express orders that the female slaves never enter the male shack. They truly were cut from the same stubborn cloth which might mean their end one day.

"Shh!!' The voice whispered softly. Im almost done and then you can turn.

'"but who are you then?". He whispered back this time.

The soft scent of her perfume wafted to his nostrils, letting him know this was no slave.

Her grip on his back loosened, and slowly she helped him turn over.

Alarm almost drove him out of the bed, running into the night as he realized it was Shaw's eldest daughter Melanie.

'Nigel don't move too much or you undo all my work.' She scolded him softly knowing the shock he must feel at her presence .'

"I came here to care for you not seal you death so please calm down before you wake the others.' Her silken voice like a soothing balm to his ears. Having the woman of his dreams in his room, his bed, was not something he expected in this lifetime or the next.

He had been in love with her since he was five years old. On the few times he had caught her eyes, he had quickly looked away lest he be spotted by the master and face certain death. He never imagined she would even notice him enough to feel resentment, much less compassion.

She suddenly moved towards his slowly retreating figure, softly cradling his head against her bossom, her body was wracked with uncontrollable sobs.

"I'm so sorry for what happened to you.' Her warm body heaved against his. The soft feel of her bosom against his face made him temporarily forget his own pain. The shock had worn off now, giving way to disbelief.

He quickly moved to free himself from her grip. "I dont understand." Why are you here maam?" He tried to stand away from the bed, well away from her lusciously soft embrace. Gosh he wanted to return to her arms.

"Nigel dont be afraid of so surprised." "i came cause i couldnt help it anymore.' She sniffed and wiped her tears. "You didn't deserve the whipping." She sniffed again and reached out to touch his arm.

"But you could get me killed if you are found here. Especially at this time" His voice had a panicked tone. Even then he drank in her loveliness as his heart pumped faster in his chest.

"Everyone is asleep now, The watch is my paid personal slave so there is nothing to worry about." She moved closer again. "I might never come here again, but for now let's just forget who we are."

Before he could further question her presence, She pulled him gently into her arms again, and carefully to wrap her arms softly around his lower back where the welts were fewer. This time, he did not have the chance to move away. Her warm, soft lips met his and he had his first kiss ever.
