Ayo Jay Singer's 'Your number' makes it to New York Times' Best Songs of 2016

The RCA records/One Nation singer's popping love song is listed alongside the likes of Rihanna's 'Needed me', and Desiigner's 'Timmy Turner'.

Ayo Jay of One Nation and Sony Music's RCA records makes it to New York Times' Best Songs of 2016.

The singer's 'Your number' is pecked at number six spot on a list that sees 'Panda' rapper Desiigner's 'Timmy Turner' freestyle at number one.

Future's 'lowlife' featuring The Weeknd, Young M.A's 'OOOUUU', Rihanna's 'Needed me' and Gnash's 'I hate you I love you' Deepend remix featuring Olivia O'Brien are some of the songs that topped  Ayo Jay's rave song.

The song - a major crossover anthem is more popular with the ladies given the song storyline. The song went on to have a remix featuring 'Trap queen' rapper Fetty Wap and a second one with Chris Brown and Kid Ink.

Jay has been able to win many fans in the US with his string of lined up performances at various gigs such as the Blits Radio One annual  showcase in New York where he performed alongside acts like Desiigner and Lloyd.

He also showcased himself at the One Africa Music Fest and New York Powerhouse both held at the Barclay's Center in New York, where he shared stage with American R&B singers Usher and Bryson Tiller at the latter event.

Ayo Jay will be looking to drop his debut album in 2017, making him one of the top acts to watch out for in the coming year.
