Award-winning author and all round badass woman J.K. Rowling sent 7-year-old girl Bana Alabed and her siblings a Harry Potter e-book after her mother got in touch with the international author.

Well known on social media and followed by more than 100,000 people, Bana Alabed has been tweeting updates about her life in the the war-torn city.

After seeing a Harry Potter film recently, her mother later tweeted at the author saying her daughter would like to read the book, but it’s not available where they live.

And of course, J.K Rowling surprised her. Sending her e books and of course lots of love.

Rowling later shared the tweet of Bana and her brothers reading together.

She wrote: “Bana, this made me so happy! Lots of love to you and your brothers!”

Bana is just one of an estimated 10,000 children trapped in east Aleppo. The east of the city is still held by the rebels, despite being totally encircled since late July. Food is running out, there are only 30 doctors left, and the civilians in the city are on their knees. Buzfeed News reported.
