For the first time ever, the 3 wealthiest people in the world are in tech and Mark Zuckerberg is number 3

Zuckerberg's net worth surpassed Warren Buffett as the world’s third-richest person as Facebook shares climbed 2.4% to close at a record $203.23 last Friday.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg's net worth surpassed Warren Buffett as the world’s third-richest person as Facebook shares climbed 2.4% to close at a record $203.23 last Friday.

Warren Buffett now maintains the fourth position with $81.2 billion. The first two are Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates with $142 billion and $94.2 billion respectively.

With Zuckerberg on the number three spot, this is the first time that the top three wealthiest persons in the world all made their fortunes in technology.

Recently, Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook unveiled its first flagship community hub space in Africa.

The community hub was launched in Lagos, Nigeria, in partnership with Co-Creation Hub (CC_HUB) alongside seven other hubs across the country including in Abuja (Ventures Platform), Jos (nHub), Kaduna (Colab Hub), Kano (DI Hub), Uyo (Start Innovation Hub), Enugu (Roar Hub) and Port Harcourt (Ken Saro Wiwa Hub).
