Tony Romo will play for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday

Though rookie Dak Prescott is expected to start the game, both Romo and Mark Sanchez are expected to get playing time. Previously, only Prescott and Sanchez were slated to get action.

There has been a lot of debate over the past few weeks about whether Romo should get some playing time during the regular season in case his experience is needed during the playoffs.

Sunday would be the first action for Romo in a game since he injured his back during a preseason game. Prescott has started every game since, leading the Cowboys to a 13-2 record and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Prescott needs one more win to set the NFL record for wins by a rookie quarterback.

Romo most recently played in a regular-season game last Thanksgiving, when he broke his collarbone in a game against the Carolina Panthers. This season's injury was a compression fracture in his back.
