  • On April 26th at the London Marathon, Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge and Ethipian Kenenisa Bekele will be competing to determine who is the ultimate king of the marathon.
  • It will be the third time Kipchoge and Bekele are facing off in London.
  • Kipchoge will be making his fifth appearance at the marathon having won the event in a course record time of 2 hours, 02 minutes and 37 seconds last year.

The World is in for a treat in what promises to be one of the most epic marathons of the 21st century.

On April 26th at the London Marathon two greatest distance runners in history and the two fastest men ever over the marathon distance will be squaring it out.

Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, the the world marathon record holder and the first man to run under two hours and Ethipian Kenenisa Bekele will be competing to determine who is the ultimate king of the marathon.

On Thursday, the race organisers announced that Bekele had confirmed his participation in the race, joining an already crowded elite field that has Kipchoge and the Ethiopian duo of Mosinet Geremew and Mule Wasihun who made the legendary Kipchoge break a sweat during the last London Marathon.

It will be the third time Kipchoge and Bekele are facing off in London with Kipchoge, having won in two previous occasions in 2016 and 2018. Kipchoge also won the 2017 Berlin Marathon where Bekele failed to finish the race.

Kipchoge will be making his fifth appearance at the marathon having won the event in a course record time of 2 hours, 02 minutes and 37 seconds last year.
