A high school football player made an incredible saving tackle on a teammate who was running the wrong way and about to score for the other team

Thrower saved his team from a safety, and on Twitter, suggested the play belonged on "SportsCenter."

A California high school football player made one of the best heads-up plays you'll see all year tackling one of his own teammates.

Kha'Ron Thrower, who according to his Twitter account plays wide receiver and defensive back for the Fairfield High School Falcons, had to think fast after his teammate intercepted a pass and began running the wrong way.

As other teammates attempted to signal that he was running the wrong way, likely into the end zone for an unintentional safety, Thrower took action, breaking out into a sprint to chasing him down and tackling him around the Falcons own 10-yard line.

"I saved the game with the tackle," Thrower wrote on Twitter, tagging various accounts with the video.

Thrower caught the attention of some media personalities, including ESPN's Field Yates, who called the play his "favorite football highlight of the weekend."

After the video began making the rounds on social media, Thrower made it clear that he understood his teammate's reaction, saying it was his first interception.

It's hard to fault a player who just made a big interception for having his excitement get the best of him, but chances are it's a mistake he won't make again.

In case he does, it's good to know that Thrower will be there ready to bring him down again.
