Theresa May slams Trump’s ‘completely unacceptable’ tweets telling congresswomen to 'go back' to 'broken and crime infested' countries

Prime Minister Theresa May has lambasted President Donald Trump for saying "Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen" should "go back" to their countries, describing the remarks as "completely unacceptable."

Trump tweeted Sunday morning asking the "'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen" widely-interpreted as a reference to US Representatives Alexandria casio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar to "go back" to their "corrupt" and "broken and crime infested" countries.

The President claimed the congresswomen were "loudly [...] and viciously telling the people of the United States [...] how our government is to be run."

Trump suggested that the congresswomen, who he tweeted "originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all)," should "go back and help fix" the "places from which they came."

A spokesperson for UK prime minister May on Monday morning said: "The Prime Minister's view is that the language used to refer to these women was completely unacceptable."
