Indonesia demands more for crude oil from Nigeria to meet local needs
Nigeria's light brent is one of the most demanded grade of crude oil across the world.
This request was made by the Head of Economic Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria, Mr Dwiyatna Widinugraha, during a courtesy call on the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Baru Maikanti, on Wednesday, March 7.
Widinugraha commended NNPC for helping to meet the energy need of Indonesia and called for more assistance in the form of increased crude oil allocation to the country.
Mr Anizar Burlian, the Vice President of Pertamina - Indonesian national oil company, also reiterated the appeal of Widinugraha.

"Over the years, we have bought a huge amount of crude oil from Nigeria. We are extremely happy to buy more Nigerian crude oil which is globally rated to be of a very high grade and which is very suitable for our refineries," Burlian said.
He said disclosed that the Indonesian government willing to invest in the Nigerian upstream, midstream and downstream petroleum sectors.
As at 2017, the population of Indonesia was estimated at 250 million people and require about 1.6 million barrels of crude oil daily to meet its energy need.
Just like other emerging economies, the demand for energy is usually high and the main reason for this government-to-government arrangement requested for by the Indonesian government.
According to the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD) of the corporation, Mr Mele Kyari, who was represented by Mr Adokiye Tombomieye, the requested of Indonesian government would be transmitted to President Buhari for consideration and approval.
