Mark Consuelos has some simple advice for a successful marriage.

The " Riverdale " star, who partnered with McCaf at Home to encourage people to stick with their New Year's resolutions, shared some marriage tips with INSIDER.
"Have a cup of coffee with your wife in the morning," he said. "That would be a good tip. Take time out and do that."

Consuelos and Kelly Ripa have been married for 22 years. The couple met during a screen test for "All My Children" in 1995. The two had instant chemistry, and Consuelos was cast as Ripa's love interest on the soap opera. The two soon started dating and eloped in Las Vegas on May 1, 1996.
They have three kids Michael Joseph, Lola Grace, and Joaquin Antonio.
The actor told INSIDER that he and Ripa also focus on the day at hand instead of stressing about the past or future.
"We take it day by day, and we don't take each other too seriously," he said.

The two often gush about each other on social media and show their humor in witty photo captions.
"Find yourself a mate that looks at you the way @instasuelos looks at himself in my goggles," Ripa captioned one image of the couple during a ski trip.
Ripa even used Consuelos' TV family for their real family holiday card in 2018.
"Riverdale" airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
