Timex clearly agrees as evidenced by the brilliant re-release of their <a href="https://www.timex.com/browse/collections/timex-t80/" id="167b2624-47ac-399b-ac78-f19bee34d409"> iconic T80 watch </a> at <a href="https://www.complexcon.com/" id="e41ad214-747c-3e00-a038-b0efe7dc6f98"> ComplexCon </a> this weekend in Long Beach. Smartly so, the watchmaker went so far as to even doubled-down on nostalgia <a href="https://www.timex.com/timex-x-pac-man-t80-34mm-stainless-steel-bracelet-watch/TW2U32000YB.html" id="e81ca31e-260b-3804-ad4b-2bb6efc782fe"> releasing a special edition PAC-MAN version </a> of the watch that sold out after 15 minutes. While the classic arcade game style was gone in a flash, you can still score the classic T80 and sign up for notifications for the restock of the PAC-MAN version.

What makes the T80 timepiece so successful is its versatility and spot-on timing for both trend and demand. <a href="https://www.menshealth.com/style/g26570199/retro-sneakers-men/" id="4d291255-6c81-309b-a0fe-813f9d215a0c"> Retro-style sneakers </a> and activewear have made a major comeback, so its no surprise that 80s style (like broadened shoulders and relaxed tailoring) would make its way back into fashion, too. Timex Re-Released Their T80 Watch With a Pac-Man Twist

They continued, straitjackets are a symbol of a cruel time in medicine when mental health illness was not understood.

The brand also confirmed on Instagram that the clothes were just meant to be used as a form of artistic expression and will not be sold.

This incident is the latest in a string of issues Gucci has had with balancing creative expression in todays culturally sensitive times. The most recent taking place in February, where following an apology for producing a <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/07/us/gucci-blackface-sweater/index.html" id="1f9c2348-c9a1-3ea2-a529-084ab6f84c86"> wool balaclava sweater that resembled blackface </a> , the brand said they would be forming an advisory council and hiring a global director for diversity and inclusion.

The real question this raises though is at what point does creative freedom end and cultural insensitivity begin? Creative minds will always need an outlet to express their ideas, but when does vision turn into an offensive act?
