<p>Asamoah Gyan is worth over 20 million dollars and he is considered one of the richest African footballers in Africa.</p>

<p>He made most of his monies during his days at Al Ain from 2011 to 2015, before joining Shanghai SIPG, where he was paid $250,000 a week and emerged as the highest-paid African footballer.</p>

<p>The former Black Stars skipper after an illustrious career abroad has returned home and he is currently playing for Legon Cities.</p>

<p>The 35-year-old is, however, yet to make his first start of the season, despite having been used as a substitute due to injury worries.</p>

<p>The Ghanaian has revealed that sharing the same dressing room with the Argentine made him contemplate on quitting football because he realized the Barcelona ace was too good for him to play with him in the same team.</p>

<p><em>“The six months at Barcelona were incredible,” Boateng told DAZN .&nbsp;“At first, I didn’t believe it. I thought it was Espanyol who wanted me, not the real Barcelona!</em></p>

<p><em>“Training with Messi left me speechless. I had always said that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best in the world, but Messi is something else. He’s not normal.</em></p>

<p><em>“While training with him, I felt inadequate for the first time in my career. He was doing incredible things. I felt like saying, ‘I’m done, I’m going to quit playing!'”</em></p>

<p>Boateng has become something of a journeyman in his career, playing for teams in England, Germany, Italy and Spain. Though his career has included stops at major clubs such as Tottenham, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, Boateng admitted that he could have potentially accomplished more.</p>

<p>During his stint at Spurs between 2007 and 2009 in particular, Boateng said he looked to off-field extravagances to cover up for his on-field issues.</p>

<p><em>“When I was young, at Tottenham, it’s true: I bought three luxury cars in one day, but there was so much pain inside me,” he said. “I was trying to buy happiness. I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t playing. I wasn’t well and so I was looking for something else. Sure, I would change that part of my past.</em></p>

<p><em>“Often, I trusted only my talent and, with the talent I have, without being arrogant, I could have done a lot more. Although, I have had a beautiful career anyway.”</em></p>

<p>In the latter part of his career, Boateng has also focused on off-field activism, speaking out frequently against racism. Despite a host of ugly incidents across Europe recently, Boateng said that he has yet to see nearly enough change.</p>

<p><em>“In football, nothing has changed since 2013,” Boateng said. “Maybe a few more fines, but nothing has changed. It’s sad. It still happens. And it happens too much.</em></p>

<p><em>“Change comes from FIFA and UEFA. Us footballers, we’re important, we try to speak, we use social media, we use interviews, but if it doesn’t start from above, it’s difficult for us.</em></p>

<p><em>“In 2013, I was saying, I hope that the kids in a few years don’t know what racism is, and instead they’re now hearing us talk more about it today than yesterday</em>.”</p>

Ghanaian forward has disclosed that he almost hanged up his boot after joining Barcelona because Messi made him realise his performance was below par.

<p>Milan got off to a flying start with a goal by <strong>Antonio Nocerino</strong> after just 15 minutes. Ten minutes later, <strong>Sulley Muntari</strong> headed in a rebound that clearly crossed the line before <strong>Gianluigi Buffon</strong> knocked it back out. </p>

<p>Somehow, the perfectly-positioned linesman didn’t see it.</p>

<p>At that point the goal would have made it 2-0, and Milan would most likely have gone on to victory. Instead, Juventus got an equalizer and escaped with a point. Did the decision cost Milan the title? Milan fans will always ponder that question.</p>

<p>However, despite it being a goal, it wasn't awarded by the officials. There was no goal-line technology at that time.</p>

<p>Juventus went on to win the title by four points this year, so their fans may point out that a three-point swing would not have been enough to give Milan the title. However, the entire course of history could have been completely different if the Rossoneri had won. They would have gone four points clear of Juventus and given the Bianconeri their first loss of the season. That certainly could have affected their confidence and how they approached the rest of the season.</p>

<p>Adriano Galliani has revealed that AC Milan decided to sell Ibrahimovic and Silva because they lost the Scudetto and indicated that they would have dominated the Italian topflight league for three consecutive seasons if Sulley Muntari’s goal had stood.</p>

<p><em>“History would have changed. We sold Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva at the end of that season, two champions who are still playing at the highest levels.”</em></p>

<p><em>“If things would have gone differently, they may still be Milan players and we could have signed Carlitos Tevez as well who, instead, signed for Juventus. With him we would have won three Serie A titles in a row.”</em></p>

<p><em>“It should have been allowed and we would have won the title that season,” Galliani told Libero.</em></p>

<p>Milan sold both Zlatan and Silva to French giants Paris Saint Germain for big fees during that summer.</p>
