<h1>The Oyo State Police Command said no fewer than 18 suspects had been arrested across the state for various offences during Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections.</h1>

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan.

Fadeyi said the offences committed by the suspects ranged from attempt to snatch ballot boxes and ballot papers to violence.

He said that seven assorted guns and 30 live cartridges and other dangerous weapons were recovered from some of the suspects.

He said that the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at Iyaganku, was currently carrying out preliminary investigations on the suspects.

Fadeyi said that the suspects would be transferred to Abuja for further investigation after completion of initial checks at the state level.

Ibadan, March 10,2019 (NAN) The Oyo State Police Command says it has obtained firsthand information on the identity of the suspected killer of Hon. Temitope Olatoye , House of Representatives member for Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Olatoye popularly known as Sugar, was shot on the head by gunmen during the governorship and State House of Assembly election on Saturday.

He was rushed to the University College Hospital and later died at the Intensive Centre Unit (ICU) while receiving treatment.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, in a statement on Sunday, said investigation has bagan and the scene of the crime has been cordoned off.

He saidthe Deputy Commissioner of Police CIID ,Iyaganku , Ibadan, has been directed to lead the team of investigators.

Concerted efforts are ongoing to unravel and arrest the suspected killer in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Muhammed Adamu.

I seek the cooperation and understanding of the family members who are bereaved and mourning and the support of the public to assist the police with credible and useful information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing culprits, Olukolu said.

<h1>Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Oyo state Command, says it has mapped out security arrangement for the peaceful campaign train of President Muhammadu Buhari to Ibadan on Saturday.</h1>

Mr Oluwole Olusegun, Public Relation Officer (PRO) for the Command disclosed this in an interview with theNews Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ibadan.

Olusegun said, adequate security arrangement has been put in place to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the presidents campaign.

He said NSCDC officers would be stationed at strategic locations to protect lives and property.

Olusegun said the command had trained about 120 personnel for the forthcoming general elections in the state, adding that a substantial number of them would be deployed t maintain peace during the visit of the president.

As we all know, party supporters will troop out to welcome the president and the duty of the security agencies is the safety of lives and property of the citizens.

We are not going to give any chance to those who might want to perpetrate any evil act.

We are prepared to protect lives and property and ensure that the campaign is hitch-free.

The PRO urged politicians and their supporters to shun acts capable of causing violence, stressing that they should embrace peace with one another.

Olusegun called on politicians and other citizens of the state to cooperate with security agents by voluntarily providing information that would assist them nip crime in the bud to ensure hitch-free general elections in the area.

He assured the people of the state of adequate safety of lives and property before, during and after the general elections.
