<h1>The Adamawa Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has rejected the result of Saturday’s governorship election in some local government areas in the state.</h1>

Mustafa Salihu, APC National Vice Chairman, North East, announced the rejection on Monday in Yola.

Salihu, who was the state collation officer of Presidential and Governorship elections, alleged that the governorship election that was declared inconclusive by INEC was full of irregularities.

“We want to bring into the notice of the public serious irregularities associated with the just concluded governorship election. As a party, we reject this result in totality.

“Because there are evidences that voting process were compromised, in a lot of Polling Units, Card Readers were not used. There were over voting and our agents were chased away,” Salihu said.

He said the party had petitioned INEC on the election process from polling units, wards, local government and the state level but the petition was rejected.

He listed the areas where he alleged the irregularities took place to include Demsa, Lamurde, Numan ,Guyuk, Michika and Madagali Local Government areas.

Salihu alleged that the polling units that INEC declared the Saturday’s governorship election inconclusive covered just one per cent of polling units and urged the commission to expand its investigation to cover more areas.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that INEC on Monday announced that Saturday’s governorship election in the state was inconclusive because the number of votes cancelled was higher than the margin between the leading PDP candidate and the first runner up APC candidate.

<h1>The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared PDP Presidential candidate , Atiku Abubakar as winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Adamawa.</h1>

Declaring the result on Monday in Yola, the Presidential election Returning Officer for Adamawa, Prof. Andrew Yakubu, said Abubakar scored 410,266 votes to defeat the APC candidate who scored 378,078 votes.

Yakubu said the total number of registered voters in the state was 1,959,322 ,while 874,920 voters were accredited.

The Presidential election results are from the 21 local government areas of Adamawa.

PDP won in 11 local government areas and APC in 10 Areas.

The local government areas won by the opposition PDP are Hong, Guyuk, Lamurde, Numan, Demsa, Mayo-Belwa, Madagali and Song.

Others are Gombi, Michika and Jada Local Government Areas.

The ruling APC won in Yola South, Yola North, Mubi South, Mubi North, Girei, Maiha, Ganye, Fufore , Shelleng and Toungo local government areas.

Atiku escapes defeat in home state Adamawa

<h1>Hajiya Aisha Dahiru of All Progressives Congress (APC) has won Adamawa Central Senatorial seat, making her the only female Senator-elect so far in Northern Nigeria.</h1>

The Returning Officer, Prof. Buba Jakusko, said Dahiru scored 188,526 votes to beat Mr Murtala Chibado of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 96,530 votes.

Jakusko said Mr Mustafa Madawaki of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 36,030 votes.

The Adamawa Central Senatorial zone is made up of Yola South, Yola North as well as Girei, Fufore, Song and Gombi Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abdurrauf Modibbo of APC won Yola-North/Yola-South/Girei Federal Constituency seat with 80,453 votes, beating Mr Jafar Ribadu of PDP who scored 48,476 votes.

Mr Mustafa Ibrahim of ADC came third with 29,222 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Buba Jakusko, said Dahiru scored 188,526 votes to beat Mr Murtala Chibado of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 96,530 votes.

Adamawa gets another female senator

The Collation Officers of the 18 local government areas announced the results at the result in Yola, before the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State, Prof. Andrew Yakubu.

The local government areas so far won by the ruling APC are Yola South, Yola North, Mubi South, Mubi North, Girei, Maiha, Ganye, Fufore and Shelleng.

The PDP won in Hong, Guyuk, Lamurde, Numan, Demsa, Mayo-Belwa, Madagali, Song and Gombi Local Government Areas.

Yakubu said results from the remaining three local government areas – Jada, Toungo and Michika – were being awaited.

Despite postponement of elections  by INEC, group insists Buhari will defeat Atiku at the polls.

The Presidential Collation Centre in Yola has received the Presidential election results from 18 out of the 21 local government areas of Adamawa, with the APC and PDP each winning in nine council areas.

<h1>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa says the Monday night attack by suspected insurgents in Madagali Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, will not deter it from conducting elections in the area.</h1>

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there was an insurgent attack in Kirchinga and Shuwa villages of Madagali LGA.

Mr. Kasim Gaidam, the states Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) told NAN that the commission was committed to conducting elections in designated areas in Madagali.

"The Independent National Electoral Commission, the good people of Madagali and the entire Adamawa State have resolved to ensure election is conducted in Madagali.

"No amount of threats, intimidation and sabotage would stop INEC from conducting the elections," Gaidam said.

The REC said the commission, with the support of security agencies and other relevant stakeholders, would ensure the successful conduct of in the area; and Adamawa in general.

Gaidam, who noted that there were more than 81,000 registered voters in Madagali LGA, assured the electorate that INEC would not disenfranchise them.
