This day was eagerly anticipated, the day for Enyimba fans to see their new coach and his team, and it finally came. Finidi George's first official game for the People's Elephants was against Diambars FC at the Lat Dior Stadium in Senegal. Fans eagerly waited to see how Finidi's team play, many of them did not get the chance to see the team in the first game.

Super Falcons midfielder, Toni Oyedupe Payne visited her country of birth for the first time and it was a memorable one for her. She was born and raised in Alabama, USA to Nigerian parents in 1995. On Wednesday, the Super Falcons defeated Ghana's Black Queens 2-0 at the Onikan Stadium stadium in Lagos. That game was the biggest tie in the first round of the qualifiers and it was a game of two halves, with Nigeria dominating the first half and Ghana dominating the second half.
