Nigerian student wins award in London University

A Nigerian student,

The award was announced on Monday, February 26, 2018, during the Dudley Newitt Lecture held on the university campus.

Describing her performance during her Advanced Masters studies in Chemical Engineering as impressive, the university management offered Udoh a scholarship to commend her academic feat.

Also impressed by her academic performance, the Akwa Ibom State Government gave Udoh another scholarship award to the tune of $20,000.

Akwa Ibom governor commends the awardee for making the state proud

While presenting the award to Udoh, the state governor, Udom Emmanuel commended the young lady for making Akwa Ibom state proud through hard work and commitment to her studies. The governor also thanked Udoh's father for investing in the education of his daughter.

Moreover, the awardee's father praised his daughter on her achievement saying “Christiana has retained her number one position and we feel thrilled about it. This shows that Nigeria is on course to favourably compete with any nation of the world.”

He therefore called on Nigerian Government to emulate countries like South Africa, Indonesia, and Malaysia in allocating at least 20 percent of the country's GDP to education sector.
