John Mikel Obi says Chelsea will beat Barcelona to qualify

Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel has backed

Speaking to Tianjin Today Evening News, Mikel admitted that it would be a difficult task for Chelsea to go to the Camp Nou and get a Victory.

He however, believes that Antonio Conte’s team can take inspiration from his 2012 Champions League winning Chelsea side that eliminated Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the semi-finals.

He said,“I believe they will knock out Barcelona on their own ground, just like we did in 2012.”

The Super Eagles captain admitted that he will always remember the semi-final victory over Barcelona.

He said, “I have been played [sic] for Chelsea for 11 years and that comeback I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Mikel left Chelsea for Chinese side Tianjin Teda inJanuary of 2017, but admitted he still supports the London based outfit.

“Obviously I will continue to support Chelsea as always and hopefully they will go through into the next round.” Mikel said.
