FBI reviewing new emails 11 days to U.S. presidential election

The FBI has revealed that the bureau is reviewing new emails in the Hilary Clinton classified information probe few days to election.

According to a report by CNN, FBI Director, James Comey disclosed that the bureau is looking into new emails of the U.S Presidential candidate.

Comey reportedly told U.S. lawmakers on Friday, October 28, 2016 that the bureau is reviewing new information related to Hillary Clinton's personal email server.

The news is coming barely 11 days ahead of the highly anticipated U.S. election.

In a letter to an eight congressional committee chairmen, Comey said investigators are examining newly discovered emails that "appear to be pertinent" to the email probe.

"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear pertinent to the investigation. "

I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,"Comey reportedly wrote.

Speaking further, Comey said he was not sure how long the additional review would take and said the FBI "cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant."

CNN reported that Clinton's campaign learned of the news while they were aboard a flight to Iowa and one of her aides said: "We're learning about this just like you all are."

In a swift reaction, Trump's campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, tweeted after the news broke.

She wrote, "A great day in our campaign just got even better."

In September 2016, The FBI released a summary of its July 2 interview with Clinton concerning its investigation of her use of a private email server while secretary of state.
