Uzikwendu shares how he underwent massive weight gain to prove to his clients that they too could lose the weight
Anyone who follows celebrity fitness trainer and hip-hop artiste, Uzikwendu on Instagram may have seen some interesting photos of him where he was about twice his current size.
Contrary to belief that it was this weight which triggered his love affair with fitness, the budding hip-hop artiste has revealed that he infact gained the weight deliberately as a way to encourage his clients.
In an exclusive chat with Pulse, Uzi revealed that he decided to gain weight so he could feel the pains his clients felt and also serve as an example to encourage his clients to lose the weight.
"I was in Texas training a lot of people at the time so I decided to gain weight so they could see me lose it. I wanted all my friends and clients to see me massive and then join me on the journey to lose weight. I also wanted to experience what my clients did when they would say they're knees or lower back hurts as a result of being overweight. There's a difference between telling people what to do and knowing how they feel. When you know how they feel, then you're more sensitive to the situation"
Uzikwendu is the brain behind Uzi Burn Out, a leading fitness centre in Lagos. He's also a celebrity fitness trainer boasting clients such as Banky W, Waje, Iyanya and Omawumi to name a few.
