The Problem:

Ayo highlights the basic reason why people store fat in their tummy and it’s down to the kinds of foods they eat. She explains that certain types of carbohydrates are very bad for the tummy. She emphasizes that foods such as rice, white bread, 'eba', plantain, yam in all of their various forms are very bad for the tummy and you.

The Solution:

Ayo explains that all hope is not lost if you think that all of your carbohydrates have been cut off. She stresses that there are lots of good carbohydrates in fruits, natural yogurts and vegetables, which also have sugar. She also says that there are good types of carbohydrates in beans.

How to:

The health coach rounds off the episode with advice on how to approach your three meals per day. For breakfast, she advises eating oatmeal with fresh milk or dry powdered milk. If you’re in need of a snack, she says stay away from plantain chips but do fruits instead. Lunch time is best when you eat foods like chicken and fish without the 'eba', 'amala' or rice. Overall, she says you could have beans for dinner in whatever form.

The important lesson from what Ayo tells us is that there are good and bad carbohydrates and we must watch out to eliminate the bad ones and use the good ones more. Try out these simple tips and let us know how they work for you.
